Example 2: Sustainability Report - Editorial Design
Step One: Align internal and external stakeholders at project kick-off meetings through defining the goal, budget awareness, content management, and due dates.
Schedule a "Kick-off" meeting!
The company Environmental and Energy Affairs group requested a design of the annual Sustainability Report. The Report was to be submitted to the Board of Directors and include the CEO’s executive perspective on the company’s commitment to a sustainable future.
Example 2: Sustainability Report - Editorial Design
Step Five: Present your deliverables to the client. The quality of work will show as a result of leveraging a creative process that results in impactful design work.
Present to the client!
The client approved the 3-column grid, and reviewed the layouts through three rounds of edits. The client approved of cover redesigns for each year moving forward.

Step Two: Investigate to support the development of products, services or systems that the project is about.
Do the Research!
After the kick-off meeting, the designer reviewedmarketing collateral representing the environment, energy and sustainability industries.
A creative approach was needed that would achieve the client objectives through a redesign
of the publication.
Example 2: Sustainability Report - Editorial Design
Step Six: Process the approved art into a final deliverable. All digital formats
are completed. Coordinate with outside vendors for final output to close out
the project.
Finalize the project!
The 2016 Sustainability Report was approved by the Director of Environmental and Energy Affairs, the Board of Directors, and
the CEO.

Example 2: Sustainability Report - Editorial Design
Step Four: Present your digital concepts to your creative peers and teammates. Consider constructive feedback, further options, and remain flexible in your problem-solving.
Validate designs with peers!
Digital concepts were created for the Sustainability Report that had a flexible 3-column grid layout.

Step Three: Explore multiple ideas quickly with small drawings that represent the larger image or vision.
Ideate and Thumbnail Sketch!
After the decisionwas made for a layout redesign, various elements were evaluated with the awareness that digital templates will be made. The InDesign templates will provide layout consistency through a graphical visual grid.

Step Six: Process the approved art into a final deliverable. All digitals formats
are completed. Coordinate with outside vendors for final output to close out
the project.

The Navitron Prime logo was imprinted onto the robot and shared by the client with the
rest of the company at the
annual event.
